My first wood project - Standing Planter

I like to make something by myself. When I was looking at those old pallets in my working place, an idea came to my mind - I can make a container to grow some vegetables. So I went google and got some nice ideas about making standing planter.

According to the size of the pallets that I collected, this planter is 90 × 50 × 80 (width × depth × height ).

The following are some photos about the working process.

First thing I needed to do was taking all boars off the pallet. Second, cut them into a proper size, then combined them with screws. Most important thing is testing the combination early, because the measurement error is everywhere. But I think if I have more experience, the error could be reduced.

In order to make sure things go smoothly, I bought some tools and even borrowed books from library to learn how to use power tools.

Finally I stained it with two layer of coating. It looks pretty good as a first wood project for myself.
